Delivery Driver Jobs – Application Process Explained

Requirements for Delivery Driver Jobs

To apply, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be 21 years or older

• Hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points

• Have a clear driving licence background check

• Be confident driving a long wheelbase van (previous experience required)

• Be able to provide the necessary right to work documents
  

The Delivery Driver Application Process

We aim to give everyone a fair chance. Here’s what you can expect when applying:

1. Application & Interview

• Apply online and upload your driving licence (the system will check it within 1 day).

• We’ll call you to arrange a short interview (10–15 minutes) at our depot (ask for the address).

• During the interview, we’ll discuss your previous experience and give you more details about the role.

• Please remember to bring your driving licence and work permit documents with you.
  

2. Background Check

After your application, we’ll start a background check. This usually takes 2–4 days, depending on the season.

3. Virtual Training

Once your background check is cleared, we’ll book you for a virtual training class (9:00am – 5:00pm).

• You’ll learn how to use the delivery driver app on your phone.

• You’ll be trained on what to do if customers are not at home.

• You’ll be paid your daily salary for attending this class.
  

4. Ride-Along Training

Next, you’ll have a ride-along day (10:00am – 7:00pm) with one of our experienced drivers.

• You’ll see how to collect packages.

• Learn how to manage your daily schedule.

• Get real, hands-on experience before driving alone.
  

5. Nursery Route

Your first independent day will be a nursery route – around 60% of a normal route, so you can finish early and build confidence.

• The next day, your route will increase by 10% more.

• Step by step, you’ll reach a full route while learning how to manage your deliveries and energy throughout the day.
